Beyblade: What is the WBO Open League? vs Ranked / Masters

In its 2026-01-09 announcement, the World Beyblade Organization (WBO) defined WBO Open League as what was previously labeled unranked. Organizers may set rules and formats within reason—new brackets or battle types usually land here.

Open is a community organizer tier label, not a Takara Tomy / regional-agent GP name. Events can be packed, but they do not by default feed WBO-run Ranked season or all-time boards.

The same post: custom On-Site Leaderboards (Open + Ranked) targeted for Summer 2026; events finished before that rollout are not retroactive. Open results usually live on organiser Community Open boards, not the Ranked season table.

Open League — flexible rules; does not feed WBO-run season / all-time boards.

Ranked League — WBO rulebook; certified judge; single-elimination finals (including third-place systems per the announcement); does enter season / all-time. Beyblade X Ranked Seasons start 2026-02-01 (~four months; first season shorter).

Masters League — announced for Summer 2026: standardized high-level 3on3, registered decks, example minimum 32 players. Example: Beyblade North 2026 @ Anime North under Masters (per announcement; defer to the event page for ops detail).

Mnemonic: Open = experiment / community; Ranked = season board; Masters = standardized top tier (from summer).

WBO-run season / all-time boards (e.g. Ranked X) live at leagues.worldbeyblade.org; a community mirror is beybladewiki standings. The live board could not be read directly for now—numbers follow the wiki.

Snapshot (wiki Updated October 19, 2026; still showing that stamp on 2026-10-21 re-check): Ranked X Season 3 = `2026-09-01 → 2027-01-01` · about 2,549 bladers · 165 tournaments · Glicko-2. 2026 event volume (events page, same day): about 2,153 events; Beyblade X ~96%.

Open events do not enter those WBO-run boards. Organisers may host Community Open leaderboards. Wiki examples that day (not a full directory): Florida State, Indiana All-Time, Maryland Test, InBEYsion X Season 1, Bangalore Bladers, Bricks & Heroes, Boba & Beys, and more.

Easy mix-up: mall / agency GP ≠ WBO Open League.

tmtplaza Beyblade X GP Hong Kong (about 2026-09-29–10-13; GP final about 10/11; winner represents HK–Macau at the December Thailand GP Final) is an official / agency line—not WBO Open. Source: tmtp.com.hk Promotion/444.

Local exchange events (e.g. Elite Cup 2026-10-04 at Youth Square) are also not WBO Open—HK play is mostly agency / community exchange; WBO Open is an international community tier label.

No regular Hong Kong calendar branded WBO Open League appears in public sources so far. Treat new posts on their own event pages.

Sketch only—Organizer Guide and the live event page win on detail.

1. Listing says Open / unranked → community experiment; not a season-points grind by default.

2. International Glicko / seasons → Ranked + leagues / wiki; keep an as-of date.

3. HK GP / mall / exchange → another line; file separately from Open.

4. Winning combos → other WBO threads; no meta decks here, and no rehash of the October tier guide.

HobbyWiki is a collector / guide site: tier mapping and HK contrast—not entry sales.
